RUMMY
Gin Rummy
Draw and discard against the computer, form non-overlapping sets or runs, and reduce your unmatched-card total before knocking.
How to play Gin Rummy
- Begin with ten cards each. On your turn take the top stock or discard card, then discard one card; the computer takes the other turn.
- A meld is three or four equal ranks, or at least three consecutive cards of one suit. A card cannot belong to two melds. Unmatched cards are deadwood; aces count one, face cards ten and other cards their rank value.
- After discarding, knock with ten or fewer deadwood points. This edition compares deadwood after any allowed layoff, includes gin and undercut bonuses, and ends at 100 points.
Tip
Before discarding, compare the card’s deadwood value with the runs or sets it can complete.
